Andaman Islands Earthquake, Causes Tsunami Warning

A U.S. Geological Survey, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake rattled the Indian Ocean off Andaman Islands on Monday. The earthquake was 33 km in depth, it happened 260 km north of Port Blair in the Andaman Islands, India and 825 km west of Bangkok, Thailand. A tsunami warning has been issued to India, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand and Bangladesh.

Tremors were also felt at several places in Chennai. The residents of Anna Nagar, Mylapore, Besant Nagar and Nungambakkam areas here felt the tremors.Complaints of cracks in the houses were also received from few places.
